In Ghana's Volta Region, the residents of Anlo celebrate the Hogbetsotso Festival. The festivities begin in November at Anloga, the ceremonial and traditional capital of the Anlo state. Festival is a day that reveals Ewe history and brings to life the memories of the heroic deeds of brave men who freed the Ewe-Dogbo people from the oppressive control of the tyrannical King of Kings Torgbui Agorkorli of Nortsie in Togo.
